Meet videographer AJ Quon
AJ Quon is the Art Director of Video at Urban Outfitters and studied graphic design at the ArtCenter College of Design. He created a stunning video of our new Fall '18 jewelry line "Moving Parts". Learn more about him here!
What does a typical day look like for you?
I feel very lucky to be able to have a career where there are no real “typical days” as things are always on the move or there are always new projects to execute or concept. I guess something that is consistent on a day-to-day basis is the ability to be creative and inspired by people around me.Tell us about your move from graphic design to social media? Was it a conscious transition or something that just happened?
I wouldn’t say it was a conscious decision, but it did feel like a natural progression. I was in college when Instagram launched and I always loved socially sharing things on platforms like Tumblr, MySpace, and Blogspot (lol wow tbt) so it seemed like a cool place to start sharing my work for freelance jobs and from there other opportunities arose!
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by people and storytelling. I love working collaboratively and creating an environment where everyone can feel excited and compelled to bring their ideas to the table and just have a big ol’ creative love fest. Stylistically I’m inspired by movement, colors, angles, and tricks of the eye.How do you like living in Philly?
