Mind Flow Macramé with Angela Boltz

Mind Flow Macramé

In this workshop led by Angela Boltz, we will explore macramé, the soothing ancient textile art of decorative knotting, as a means of living more mindfully . Mindfulness, at it’s core, is a technique in developing our capacity to be present moment-to-moment, ultimately leading to a state of complete absorption in the here-and-now, a feeling of energized focus, and genuine fulfillment in the task at hand. It’s a invaluable tool for approaching our lives with a quality of attention, spaciousness, and ease.

Class will begin with a light discussion on mindfulness fundamentals and some gentle, centering breathwork.  Participants will then learn the history of macramé, practice 3 basic knot formations, and start a  project of their own. Our evening will be a healthy balance of instruction and fun, with periods of silence for students to sink into the creative "flow" of rhythmic, repetitive hand motions so the mind can unwind.

Everyone will leave with a beautiful handmade plant-holder, along with the knowledge to use as a springboard for further creative play and mindful exploration.

Her professional education includes a degree in Cultural Anthropology with a focus in Cross-Cultural Religions, 11 years as a yoga teacher and wellness workshop facilitator, 6 years as a Yoga teacher trainer, 11 years co-producing conscious gatherings, and 8 years leading international yoga retreats.

Reveal Your Birth Star w/ Mother Craft Herbal's Danielle

What is your birth star? In the Vedic System of Astrology the birth star or "Nakshatra" is considered one of the most important parts of one's natal chart. It is the constellation that the moon was in at the time of your birth.

This is the guiding light, so to speak, showing how you approach and experience your life. Many of us are familiar with our Sun and Moon Sign but the birth star is much more specific to you personally. Three people can have the same moon sign but be totally different. There are 3-4 constellations within each sign.

In this workshop you will learn about lunar rhythms, how to utilize their energy, why it’s better to take action on some days more than others and how to connect to each of our own true nature.*

You will also craft a personal lunar anointing oil to take home.

The workshop will be held on May 22nd at 7pm.
It will be approximately 2.5 hours.

Ritualizing & Welcoming In Spring with Tasha Goldberg 3/28

Join Tasha Goldberg on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 7pm for an intimate evening of honoring the new season. It will be an evening steeped in the beauty of the turning of tides to spring as we create a ritual that is inspired by the tradition of Ho’oponopono (the practice of reconciliation and forgiveness) from Hawai’i, Yoga Nidra meditation from Tantric principles and Motherpeace tarot as tools for reflection and clarity. This ritual will also help to inspire you to create new rituals or to deepen existing practices.

As Spring begins to reveal itself, we often feel a natural urge to begin cleaning and clearing, both literally and metaphorically, to make room for the merging of our own new garden. And this is a great time to do so.

Stand in your own power, and feel the support of being recognized for doing so.

Do not worry if you feel shy about being part of a group, or are new to participating in ritual. The evening’s ritual will be shaped with modesty, bringing us together to create space to do personal work. We will actively engage in exercises simultaneously, but in the privacy of our own experience.

There will be two journaling exercises, yoga-nidra meditation, circulating your own prana, our own healing energy through breath and rotation of consciousness, as well as through guided visualization

Each person will leave the evening enriched from experiencing the exercises we will do, as well as having gained a new set of tools for continuing engagement.

You will be gifted a guide for continuing these practices that will include:

    ·      A recording of a guided meditation based on Yoga Nidra

    ·      Several scripts to use to help you record your own voice for guided meditations

    ·      Reference materials to continue study of Motherpeace tarot

    ·      Step by step guide to utilizing the Ho’oponopono tradition in self-exploration

    ·      A curated selection of flower essences will be made available for additional purchase

THIS WORKSHOP IS OPEN TO ALL WHO ARE INTERESTED

Intro to Seed Cycling with Cristina Hoyt Alverez

Introduction to Seed Cycling will be a workshop and discussion on how-to, and the beneifts of, syncing your cycle with the moon, balancing your hormones, and unleashing the feminine within.

In this intimate workshop, we’re going to discuss the taboo topic of our menstrual cycles.  No longer will this topic be discussed quietly behind hushed doors. We’re going to explore the cyclical nature of our cycles and the power of syncing the cycle to the moon phases. This primal pattern has been used for generations. We’re going to discuss how we can harness the power of the moon phases to balance our hormones and get back in touch with our feminine within using the power of seed cycling.

This workshop is going to dig deeper into the power of the moon cycles as well as the scientific nutritional components that seed cycling can provide to aid in balancing our hormones.

If you’re experiencing any of the symptoms below, this workshop is for you:

Too heavy or too light bleeding

    Irregular Cycles

    Low Libido

    Clotting

    Cramping

    PMS

    Fertility

    Acne

    Postmenopausal low libido or depression

    General disconnection with your cycle

Cristina is a certified Nutritional Coach and student in the Masters of Clinical Nutrition program at the Maryland University of Integrative Health. Her practice is Nourish: Mindful Body + Mindful Life.  Cristina has trained with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and studies the work of Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Liz Lipski and many more.  She helps women end chronic dieting and negative body image by simplifying nutrition and reframing eating healthy as an act of self-appreciation rather than guilt. She is bringing pleasure and enjoyment into eating and living a healthy lifestyle. She also teaches workshops both in person (in Philadelphia & NYC) and online on topics such inflammation, mindful eating, stress management for female entrepreneurs, and the benefits of yoga on our stress response.

Cristina feels it is important for women to have a safe space to discuss all the "normals", "abnormals" of menstruation in an open and nonjudgmental atmosphere. In this place, women can share and talk about their periods outside of a typical OBGYN approach that masks a lot of the symptoms with prescribing birth control. This workshop would be part discussing these myths, making an environment where women feel comfortable to share and ask their questions, and then education around things they can do to optimize and support their monthly cycle - through modalities such as seed cycling and syncing with the moon cycles.  She will discuss the benefits of seed cycling and why it's such a useful and beneficial tool for women, especially those with more difficult cycles.

We are SO excited to have her at Moon + Arrow for this event.

Tickets are $20 and the workshop will be 90 minutes.

Wild Abundance: A Foraged Bitters Session w Heather McMonnies & Jack Falkenbach

Spring is out there, we can smell it, but our winter-woods still straddle the season. Bare trees in stark contrast to the bloom of green we trust to burst. You know that day. When you notice, with surprise, that the whole colorfield has emerged, emerald.

Wild abundance is all around you. We’ll teach you where to look & what to do with what you find, seasonally. How to relish the hunt for ingredients & distill a taste of that foray to revive in cooking & cocktails. Folks will leave with a bottle of their own creation & inspired recipes.

    Manifesting the Creative Body

Remember when you were a kid and you wrote, drew, danced and sang for the pure joy of it?

You had an inescapable desire to create and this part of you never died! Believe it or not, it's still here. It's the ache and longing to express yourself. There aren't just certain people who have an interesting story to tell, everyone does. Everyone has access to the creative energy moving in the universe. The moon serves as a constant support in our creative unfolding.

In this workshop we will learn skills to unblock our creative flow and tap into the creative well  inside each of us. We will support each other by identifying what holds us back. We will use meditation, breathing and learning about the moon cycle to awaken a kindness for our precious creativity. We will make collages to serve as a reminder to bring home.

You will leave this class with concrete skills and exercises to tap into your creative flow at any time. Not kidding.
