Ciao, Palermo Body!

As lovers of history, horticulture, reverence for natural processes, architecture, and art, we are fond of Italy, and what Italy inspires. So it is no surprise that we were drawn to Jessica Morelli and her product line Palermo Body, and the inspiration behind it.

Palermo Body is a collection of truly natural skin care products formulated by Jessica and inspired by her Nonna (Grandmother) Vincenza who was born in Palermo, the capital of the Italian island of Sicily.

Jessica's Nonna lived her entire life, as we strive to, based on the foundation of natural holistic living and honoring values and traditions and the environment. She taught Jessica the importance of cooking with the freshest ingredients, how to garden, and how to use natural remedies for bumps, burns, and beauty. Years later, this knowledge and these practices inspired Jessica to begin creating products inspired by her Vincenza, all completely natural with no exceptions.

Palermo Body products are all made and packed in Brooklyn, New York. Each product is consciously formulated by Jessica, who chooses every ingredient with purpose, and mindfulness paid to the benefits of their impact on many skin types and the effect of which each will have on the environment.

"Palermo Body is the culmination of all things Jessica lives and loves.
From creating unique formulas, beautifully designed packaging, to being environmentally conscious of where ingredients are sourced. Palermo Body celebrates the vibrancy, color, and purity in the life around us." We feel like the following three products perfectly encapsulate this ethos and are just amazing.

Hydrating Body Oil - Geranium + Ylang Ylang
A blend of deeply nourishing oils rich in vitamins, nutrients and fatty acids that effectively hydrate dry, sensitive and irritated skin. This blend is revitalizing and will leave your skin luminous.

Geranium is a fragrant flower that has moisturizing, antiseptic, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties, which help heal wounds faster.
Ylang Ylang, meaning "flowers of flowers", are the yellow flowers from the Cananga Odorata tree. Known for their star shape, long yellow petals, beautiful fragrance and their positive effect on immune health, including blood flow and emotions.

Both Geranium and Ylang Ylang are also known to lower stress levels and be uplifting and are said to bring about feelings of positivity.

Regenerative Rosehip + CO2 Facial Serum
This is a super concentrated serum made from a blend of hydrating and skin-restoring botanical oils that are rich in omegas and vitamins that will renew + regenerate delicate facial skin cells. Use is shown to increase elasticity for truly healthy and resilient skin. Perfect for all skin types, especially mature skin.

CO2 (supercritical) refers to an extraction method in which the oil is drawn from the plant. CO2 oils are the purest form of herbal extract resulting in a superior product and possible benefits to your skin.

Soothing Milk Bath
This blend of soothing oatmeal, honeysuckle, and chamomile combined with moisturizing coconut milk relieves irritation and itchy skin and is ideal for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Think of it as a calming drink for your skin.

While all of these products are strong alone, you can also combine them for a self-care ritual.

Draw a bath using the Soothing Milk Bath. While the water fills, light candles and warm and wash your face with your favorite cleanser. When done climb into the bath and let the warm steam open your pores. Apply the Regenerative Serum to your face using upward, massage strokes. Let sit while you soak (you will not rinse it off). When you are done with your bath, apply the Hydrating Body Oil to your body, starting from the toes up, using long, upward massage strokes. Thank your body for all it does for you on a daily basis. Intention is important. When you are done sink into a state of bliss.
