Position Overview:

We are seeking a Creative Merchandising Specialist to bring our brand vision to life through engaging in-store displays, window installations, and customer service. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for design, a passion for storytelling through merchandising, and strong retail experience with the confidence to drive sales. The right candidate will be both a visual merchandiser and an exceptional sales associate, someone who naturally connects with customers, anticipates their needs, and confidently closes sales while maintaining Moon+Arrow’s warm and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities:


Visual Merchandising and Store Layout: 

  • Work in tandem with assistant buyer to design and execute creative product displays that align with Moon+Arrow’s seasonal themes and incoming product.

  • Ensure the store layout encourages intuitive customer flow and product discovery.

  • Refresh merchandising regularly to maintain an inspiring atmosphere and optimize sales.

  • Curate seasonal gift wrapping and consider the whole customer journey from shopping, product, to purchase. 

Storytelling & Brand Representation:

  • Highlight artisan brands, handmade products, and sustainable goods through thoughtful signage and product pairings.

  • Craft compelling narratives for in-store displays that enhance customer engagement.

  • Educate customers on brand story and key details/facts. 

  • Ability to adapt to Moon+Arrow’s aesthetic, with a deep understanding of M+A’s brand voice, vision, and mission. 

Sales & Customer Engagement:

  • Deliver an exceptional in-store experience through engaging, personalized customer service.

  • Build relationships with customers, share product stories, and confidently guide them to purchases.

  • Meet and exceed sales goals by identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell.

  • Stay knowledgeable about all products, artisans, and sustainability practices to educate and inspire shoppers.

Operational & Maintenance Tasks:

  • Responsible for tidying back stock and inventory areas while using creative organizational solutions.

  • Keep sales floor areas tidy, well-stocked, and visually appealing.

  • Work closely with the whole team to ensure inventory is being displayed and restocked consistently and effectively. 

  • Design window displays seasonally to attract foot traffic. 

Qualifications:

  1. Visual arts expertise whether that is through formal education; a BFA in visual arts or equivalent experience in retail merchandising, installation art, etc. A strong sense of design, color, and composition.

  2. Retail experience with a proven sales record, specialty store experience preferred.

  3. A passion for sustainability, handmade goods, and independent makers. 

  4. Comfortable lifting at least 40 pounds regularly.
